The mission of Ankeny First United Methodist Church is to be an “open and inviting community of faith through which God grows deeply committed Christians.” In 2012, our key focus will be on the “growing deeper” part of that statement, as we work together to strengthen our individual discipleship and our shared witness to the world. Philippians 3:12-14 Not that I have already obtained this (knowing Christ) or have already reached the goal; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.
