Band/Orchestra Ministry

Walnut Street Players is primarily a string group for high school ages to adult. Rehearsals are Thursday, 7:00–8:00pm.

Walnut Street Players are available to provide special music, dinner music, and background music at church and select events. They regularly perform at the Spirit Alive, Faith Chapel, and Trinity UMC worship services. Additionally, they perform at outreach events at Millpond Senior Center, Sunnyview Senior Center, Valley View Senior Care Center, Wesley Acres Senior Center, and the Des Moines Botanical Center.

Instruments of Peace is an orchestra for grades 6-Adults. They rehearse every Wednesday, September through May: early session from 4:10 – 4:35 pm; late session from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Both sessions combine to play hymns one Sunday a month during the school year..
