Traditional Worship

You will find the Traditional Worship services at Ankeny First United Methodist Church very much like the worship services of United Methodist Churches around the state and country. Liturgy, familiar hymns, special music, and Biblical preaching are the basis of this service.

Of course, there are always new and unique elements to the service, but the structure remains traditional.

We celebrate traditional worship services at 8:30am at our Uptown location and at 9:00am at the Faith Chapel location.

Contemporary Worship

Our liveliest services comes with upbeat songs led by our praise bands, which includes electric guitar, drums, and keyboard along with the praise singers.  You will hear the latest contemporary songs and the sounds of hands clapping.  Visuals on the large screen enhance our praise of God.

Please join us for the contemporary services at 9:45am at our Uptown location, 9:30am at our Christian Life Center location, and at 10:30am at the Faith Chapel location

Spirited Traditional Worship

Our newest type of service is a beautiful mix of old and new - combining traditional hymns with mellow praise music.  The organ will be used, along with keyboard and other instrumentation.  Special music will also include the rich diversity of our heritage, from traditional to contemporary.  The order of service will be provided on the screen as well as in print.

Please join us at 11:00 at the Uptown location.

Spirit Alive Worship (Blended)

Our Saturday evening service is a blend of traditional and contemporary worship in a casual setting in our Uptown Fellowship Hall.  The service starts at 5:00pm with Fellowship time before the service at 4:45pm.
